I can see Lyta deciding to let herself be blow up if there were no other way. I agree with PC that as strong as Lyta was and getting stronger all the time that it is unlikely there would be no other way. Also she must realize how valuable her strong abilities are to the telepaths and their causes.

I was thinking that Lyta felt so isolated and unappreciated that she might decided to give it all up. However among the telepaths she was happy, so I can't see that as a reason for committing suicide.

Hopefully there will be a movie or bokk that deals with the telepath war and we can get this type of thing sorted out
